The Empire State Building is a 102-story landmark Art Deco skyscraper in New York City, United States, at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. It is 1,250 ft (381 meters) tall. With its name derived from the nickname for New York, the Empire State. When I lived in New York everyday when I got out of bed in the morning and before I went to bed at night the first thing and the last thing I would see was through my window was the Empire State Building. I used to love seeing what colors they would be lighting the building and then trying to work out what the significance was. But perhaps the view that makes me smile the most is when the building decorated is to celebrate the saint of all saints, well the saint of commercialization as it is St Valentine of course.
